Amazing Sarajevo Apartment Opposite Eternal Flame
We’ve rent dozens of Airbnb apartments over the years, but this one in Sarajevo is the best we’ve every stayed at. We were blown away as soon as we walked in the door.
It was easily double the size of many apartments we’ve rented, but certainly not double the cost. In fact, the price was pretty average.

And it’s not just about size. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed. Even great apartments have some things missing, but this one had everything.
The Living Room
It’s guess that the apartment was around 80-90 sqm. That’s the biggest apartment we’ve every rented. It just felt so spacious and comfortable. The space was also perfectly laid out.
With most apartments, I always wonder why they put certain things in certain place or why the missed opportunities to create a better space. But not this one. I love the layout and wouldn’t have changed anything about it.
The living room had a dining table with seating for 4. It’s also a great place to sit and do some work. If you look out of the window next to the dining table you can see the Eternal Flame.
The apartment had a very large L-shaped settee and large TV. There was even a baby’s high-chair.
The Kitchen
As you can see in the photo above, there was a full-size, modern kitchen. There was a built in fridge freezer and a dishwasher, plus all the usual.
There were all sorts of pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, and utensils available. Also, many cooking ingredients like salt, pepper, olive oil, etc. Plus a variety of tea and coffee.
The Main Bedroom
The main bedroom was large and minimal. As well as a double bed, it also had a desk and chair where you could do some work. There was a cot in the corner. There were two built-in cupboards with hanging space and shelves for your clothes. There helped keep the bedroom clutter-free and made for a relaxing environment.
The bedroom was at the back of the building, so that was great for a good night’s sleep. Not that the front of the building was noisy though, as the double glazing didn’t let in hardly any noise.
The Second Bedroom
The second bedroom was a little small. It had two double beds and built-in cupboard space. We didn’t use this room.
The Bathroom
Unlike most apartment bathrooms, this one had a lot of light coming in from the skylight. It made the space feel very inviting. It was also great having a shower and being able to look out at the sky. Everything worked perfectly.
The Building
The above photo of the building doesn’t do it justice. There is currently scaffolding around the building as the outside is being renovated. We were told the scaffolding would remain in place during April and May 2023. But don’t let that put you off, as it didn’t bother us at all.
The apartment is in the upper-left of the photo. The main entrance is directly in front of the crossing.
The Eternal Flame is just to the right of the photo.
The Location
As well as the apartment itself being amazing, the location is also amazing. It’s directly opposite the Eternal Flame, which is one of Sarajevo’s main attractions.
The apartment is also on the main shopping street. You can get to most attractions with a 5 to 10-minute walk.
Next time we visit Sarajevo, we’ll definitely be booking this apartment again.
