Awesome Airbnb Apartment in Istanbul’s Hip Cihangir Neighborhood
During our two weeks in Istanbul, we stayed at three Airbnb apartment. This one was definitely the best. In fact, out of 25 apartments we’ve stayed at over the last six months, this is in the top 3.
This is the type of apartment I could happily live in for many months. I hope it’s available when we come back to Istanbul next year for an extended stay.
The Living Room
Above you can see just half the living room. It has a super-comfortable sofa and is beautifully decorated. There are large windows looking out onto the tree-lined street.
At the other end of the living room, there’s a table with four stools and a nice armchair. The room has aircon and central heating. To the right of the image above is the kitchen.
The Kitchen
The kitchen was small but functional. We mostly ate out, so only used it to cook simple meals. There are two coffee machines. We didn’t use these because our three favorite cafés were just 20 meters from the apartment.
The Bedroom
We loved the bedroom. It had a comfortable bed with a range of different bedding that would suite a summer or winter stay. This room didn’t have aircon but had a standing fan.
At the other end of the bedroom there was a spacious are with cupboards, shelves and a washing machine. We stored out suitcases in this area.
The Bathroom
The bathroom was fairly big, especially the walk-in shower. The water pressure was good but not great.
Wifi
The wifi worked well during our stay. Download speed was 26 Mbps and upload speed was 9 Mbps.
The Location
The location couldn’t be any better. This is one of the best streets in the area. There are numerous cafés and restaurants all around this area. The property is on a tree-lined street and it’s a very trendy area.
Taksim Square is only a 5-10 minute walk away.
Ma Belle restaurant is on the same street and is worth checking out.

I also want to give a big THANK YOU to the host, Hakan. He’s a great guy that knows the area well and gave us lots of recommendations. He even book a local taxi to take us to the airport at the end of our stay. The cost was just 400 TRY.
