Awesome Thai Food in Split, Croatia

My wife is Thai and always misses Thai food when we’re away traveling. Today was her lucky day though because we found an awesome Thai restaurant. The restaurant was run by Thai staff, so the food was authentic, which isn’t always the case with Thai restaurants outside Thailand.

The portion sizes were also much bigger than you’d normally get in Thailand. For the price we paid, it was fantastic value.

Panang Curry at Siam Thaifood, Split, Croatia

The restaurant serves all the Thai favorites. I opted for the Panang Curry with Tofu. Most meals offer a choice of beef, pork, chicken, seafood or tofu. This means it’s easy to get a vegetarian meal, although I’m not sure if the curry is suitable for vegetarians. It usually contains shrimp, so it probably does here as well.

My wife chose Chicken Kraprow. But guess what? It’s only after she’d eaten it that I remembered that I was planning to take a photo. Maybe I’ll get one of our next visit.

The restaurant is located in an underpass that links the green market in the city center with the seafront. There are numerous restaurants there. You can’t miss this Thai restaurant, as it has a Thai flag outside.

As you can see from the photo above, the restaurant is a small, casual place. There is seating for 14 people inside, with a few seats outside as well.

The ingredients are bought every morning from the green market, so you can be assured that they’re very fresh. We both thought the food here was better than even some of the more expensive restaurants we’ve eaten at in Bangkok.
