Dubrovnik Photo Diary

We spend three days in Dubrovnik at the beginning of April. It was fairly cold and cloudy, so the photos aren’t the best. Dubrovnik looks much better in the summer when the sun is shining and the sky is blue.

We had already visited Dubrovnik a few years ago, so during this visit we mostly chilled rather than do some sightseeing. The visit was more to get a break in our journey from Sarajevo in Bosnia to Kotor in Montenegro.

Above you can see Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It’s located up some steps near the clock tower.

The cathedral is quite beautiful inside and free to enter.

The café you can see at the bottom is very reasonably priced compared to many other cafés in the town.

Banje Beach was just a 2-minute walk from our 1-bed apartment in Dubrovnik.

It was fairly cold when we visited, so that’s why there are only a few people around.

We visited just before Easter and were surprised how many people were around. It wasn’t packed by any means but many restaurants were doing great business.

Above is the weirdest attraction in Dubrovnik. Most people miss this. I wrote about it at The Peeing Woman of Dubrovnik.

This is Dubrovnik Old Town at 6 am. It wasn’t what we expected. It was full of delivery vans and people clearing about the trash. By the time most people wake up, the town is clean and devoid of any vehicles.

We were up early to get a bus from Dubrovnik to Kotor.

The above meal was 18 EUR. That’s pretty expensive, especially when you’ve just arrived from Bosnia, which is super-cheap.

The above meal cost 11.50 EUR in Dubrovnik. Snogu also have a branch in Sarajevo. The same meal these costs just 4 EUR. For me, Sarajevo is also a more interesting city.
