Grill Centar in Mostar – Our Favorite Place to Eat
When we first arrived in Mostar, we ate at a few of the tourist restaurants near Stari Most. Our favorite there was Restoran Emen. We ate there a few times.
But as we explored Mostar, we came across a fantastic local restaurant – Grill Centar. The food there is awesome and it ended up being our go-to place for lunch.
The meal above is Grilled Chicken Filets. The chicken is succulent and very tasty. It comes with the bread shown above and makes for a filling meal. This costs just 8 BAM (4 EUR).
The salad is extra and costs 2.50 BAM (1.25 EUR). Two Grilled Chicken Filets, one salad and two sparkling waters cost us just 22.50 BAM (11.25 EUR). That’s a bargain compared to most places in Europe.
Grill Centar is very popular with locals and that’s usually a good sign. It’s at the far end of the main street, so most tourists don’t make it this far. We’ve eaten here numerous times and it’s rare that we see any tourists eating here. They don’t know what they’re missing.
Grill Centar gets great reviews, so do check it out if you visit Mostar. The food is cooked to order and the service is quick and efficient. The staff are friendly, although they don’t speak much English. There are photos of the dishes, so it’s easy to point to what you want.

Mostar’s a great city. Many people only spend a couple of days here, but we were there for around three weeks split across two visits. I’d suggest staying longer, especially if you enjoy coffee. There is a great coffee culture here.
