Hidden Gem in Mostar: A Magnificent Airbnb Apartment That Will Leave You in Awe
We’ve been traveling around Europe for the last three months and have spent all that time staying at Airbnb apartments. Some have been great and some have been a little disappointing. However, the last one we stayed at in Mostar was a real hidden gem.
I wish all Airbnb apartments were like this. It was simply superb.
Despite there only being me and my wife, we chose to stay in a 2-bed apartment. It’s nice to have a spare room to keep our luggage out of the way. And guess what? Renting a 2-bed apartment is often a similar price to renting a smaller 1-bed apartment.
This apartment was newly renovated last year and is in pristine condition. It’s on the 3rd floor of a purpose-built building that has 12 apartments. We met a couple of the neighbors and they were very friendly. The neighborhood is quite peaceful and the perfect location for us.
The old town is only a few minutes walk away. In the opposite direction there’s a shopping mall that’s about 5 minutes’ walk away, and there are also two parks within walking distance. We didn’t need to use buses or taxis, as everywhere we needed to get to was within walking distance.
The Living Room
The living room, as well as the whole apartment was furnished in a minimalist style. This is just the way we like it. I really don’t like apartments that are full of clutter.
The space was beautiful and relaxing. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. There is a huge L-shaped settee and big coffee table.
The Kitchen
The kitchen was fantastic. It was big enough for a family and had all the essentials, including large fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, and dishwasher. Tea and coffee were provided, as well as cooking oil and condiments.
There was a breakfast bar that had seating for 5 people. The owner also filled the fruit basket with a variety of fresh fruit. That was much appreciated.
The Main Bedroom
The main bedroom was simple and the bed was very comfortable. The windows had shutters, so we slept perfectly in the darkened room.
The room had a double wardrobe that had additional duvets and blankets if needed. We didn’t them, as weather was great during our stay.
The Second Bedroom
The second bedroom had three single beds. That would make this apartment ideal for a family with up to three children. This bedroom also had window shutters. This is where we kept our luggage.
The Bathroom
The bathroom was very modern and a good size. The shower worked perfectly and we always had hot water.
The bathroom had a washer/dryer, so we were able to easily wash and dry our clothes. Washing liquid capsules were provided.
The Wifi
As you can see from the image above, the wifi was very fast. It worked perfectly during our entire stay.
The Location
I already talked about the location above, but as you can see from the image, it’s on a beautiful tree-lined street. The building and many building is this area have excellent street art.

Mostar’s a great city. Many people only spend a couple of days here, but we were there for around three weeks split across two visits. I’d suggest staying longer, especially if you enjoy coffee. There is a great coffee culture here.
Such a wonderful couple! We are so happy and thankful that we have met them :) They have such relaxing and pleasant energy around them, the communication with them was always entertaining and we never ever had such an amazing experience like we had with them as guests.
All best really and we wholeheartedly hope to see you soon <3
Thanks so much. As mentioned in the article, this is the best Airbnb we stayed at since we started traveling over 3 months ago. You’ve done a great job. Hopefully, we’ll be back sometime next year.
