Large 1-Bed Airbnb Apartment Near Taksim Square, Istanbul
We spent a week are this large Airbnb apartment that was just 2-3 minutes walk from Taksim Square.
It might sound like it’s in a busy area, but it’s actually in a very quiet residential area. It’s a great location because you’re near the main attractions, yet far enough away to be able to get back home and have a great night’s sleep.
Living Room
The apartment is on the raised ground floor, is above street level. There are bars on the front windows, as is the case with almost all lower-level apartments in Istanbul. It might sound like it’s an unsafe neighborhood, but it felt very safe and friendly when we were there.
As well as a big, comfortable sofa, there are also two armchairs in the living room. There’s a TV as well, but we didn’t use that.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is open-plan and is an ideal size for a short stay. There is a dishwasher under the breakfast table, but we found this a little difficult to use due to its location.
The Bedroom
The bedroom was at the back of the building. This room had aircon even though the living room didn’t. There was central heating, although we didn’t need to use it as we stayed there in July.
The Bathroom
The bathroom was quite small, but ok for two people. The water pressure was fairly good. There were more than enough essentials such as shower gel, shampoo, and toilet tissue.
The Balcony
There was a balcony off the bedroom but it wouldn’t have been a great place to site, as it’s overlooked by many apartments around it.
There was a washing machine on the balcony that we made use of. There was an iron and full-size ironing board available as well.
Wifi
The wifi was fast and worked fairly well, although it did slow time from time to time.

Overall, this was a great apartment at a reasonable price.
However, we later found an even better apartment for our last few days in Istanbul.
