Our Airbnb Apartment in Brno
The apartment we stayed at in Brno had some positive points, but we were a bit disappointed overall.
On the plus side, the location was pretty good and the wifi was fast. Read on to see what else we thought about it.
The Living Room
When you enter the apartment, there’s a small hallway. Bathroom is on the left and living room straight ahead.
On first entering, it looked great. The room was bright and it was fairly minimalist, which we like.
There is not wardrobe, just a rail with 4 clothes hangers.
The Kitchen
The kitchen looked fine, with dishwasher, fridge, kettle. Then we opened the cupboards to see what cooking equipment there was. This is when we got very disappointed.
Here’s what we had to cook with. A large frying pan and a very large saucepan. Not ideal at all. There weren’t any spatulas or wooden spoons so I suppose were were meant to use a normal knife to flip our friend eggs.
Here are the dishes. There were another two cups that we already took out of the cupboard. No bowls for soup or porridge.
And here we have the cutlery.
I don’t think this is acceptable at all in an Airbnb apartment.
What’s the pint of a dishwasher with so few dishes. There weren’t any dishwasher tablets either.
The Bathroom
The bathroom was fine, but the washing machine didn’t work. However, there were only two bath towels. There weren’t any hand or foot towels.
The Balcony
There was a nice balcony that was quite large, with table and comfortable seating.
The curtains were very thin so didn’t block out the light at night.
The Wifi
The wifi worked well and was very fast.
The Location
The apartment is around 10 minutes’ walk from the train station and a similar distance from the city center. The apartment is in a fairly new and modern building with a lift.
Value for money?
If you don’t want to cook at the apartment then it might be a great place to stay. But when paying good money (around 90 EUR a night) for an apartment, I expect to have a better equipped kitchen.
It wouldn’t take much to make this a great apartment. Just some extra kitchen equipment and towels and it would be idea. I can’t understand why the owner hasn’t made more effort.
