The Peeing Woman of Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is a very clean city and it’s rare to come across any graffiti or weird things. So I was very surprised to see a statue of a peeing woman outside a restaurant.
It’s quite an explicit statue, and not what you’d expect to see in a tourist town in Europe. There is even a bowl to catch the pee/water under the statue.
The statue is next to a restaurant called Lady Pi-Pi, that’s named after the statue. The restaurant is temporarily closed, but maybe it only opens during the summer months. It would be great to see the statue with the water switched on.
You see lots of fountains with statues of boys peeing, but this is the first time I’ve seen a female statue of this sort. Many people are are likely to be offended by it, but it’s just a chunk of stone and some water.
So, that’s my contribution to weird Dubrovnik. I doubt I’ll find anything else here quick like it.
