Vegan and Vegetarian Food in Ljubljana
We came across quite a wide range of vegan and vegetarian food in Ljubljana. Below are the places we ate at. There are lots more that we didn’t try.
We also noticed that many regular restaurants had vegan or vegetarian sections on their menus.
There were also many Asian wok-style street food places that would likely sell vegan and vegetarian meals.
Veganika
This vegan restaurant gets pretty good reviews but I wasn’t overly impressed. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. The first annoying thing is that they don’t have a printed menu. You have to scan a QR code to get it. If you don’t have wifi (we didn’t), you can see it.
The waiter lent us the restaurant phone to check the menu. They have a small range of dishes plus some daily specials. I had the Udon Quixote which is pretty decent. It cost 12 EUR. My wife had the Daily Dish. This was 9.50 EUR. She loved it.
I think it was a little over-priced for what we got though and the service was pretty slow. But it was very busy, so it’s obviously a popular place.
Above you can see the main dishes. We also noticed some delicious-looking cakes, but not until we were on the way out. They were a bit hidden at the end of the counter.
