Things to Do in Kotor
Below is a small list of what we did in Kotor. This is the second time we’ve visited the town, so we mostly chilled. There are other things to do as well, like take boat trips and day trips around the area.
We decided to take it easy for the week we were there, so mostly stayed in the old town area. We’re traveling for 6 months, so it’s nice to just chill sometimes.
Visit the Cats Museum
There is a small, but fascinating, cat museum that you can visit. It’s only 1 EUR to enter, with this money being used to help feed the hundreds of cats that roam the town.

Walk to the Old Fortress
One of the highlights of Kotor for me was taking a walk up to the old Kotor Fortress. It took me around 35 minutes to get to the top. It can be a difficult walk if you’re not fairly fit.

Explore the Old Town
Old Town Kotor is centuries old and has some amazing buildings. The town is fairly small and compact, so you can just wonder around and see the fantastic old stone buildings.
If you enter the town from the main gate, this is the first things you’ll see. There are quite a few cafés in this area.
There are many old churches in the town. Many are closed, but the one above was open and free to eneter.
You’ll find a lot more than I’ve shown above, so get out there and explore the town.

Eat Delicious Food at One of the Many Outdoor Restaurants
Can you spot the cat sitting on the table in the above photo? There are numerous outdoor restaurants in Kotor Old Town.
With so many restaurants, there is enough variety of food to suit everyone.
Where to stay in Kotor
We stayed at Old Town Square Kotor Apartment for our first three nights and then moved to Boskovic Apartment for the next three nights. They have the same owner. We wanted to stay at the first apartment but it had already been booked by someone else.
